Job 42:5โ6 (NKJV) โ โI have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.โ
Among men, closeness often cheapens honor, but with God, closeness deepens awe.
Abraham, though called Godโs friend, whispered, โI am but dust and ashesโ (Gen 18:27). John, who leaned on Jesusโ breast, fell as dead before His glory (Rev 1:17). The nearer the light, the sharper the shadows of our own frailty.
True acquaintance does not shrink Godโit expands Him. It does not lessen wonderโit multiplies it. To know Him is to worship, to see Him is to tremble, and to walk with Him is to bow low in holy awe. Keep drawing near… Heavens greatness never breeds disdain only deeper devotion.
