Luke 2:15-17
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
The angels and the heavenly host appeared to the shepherds keeping vigil over their flock in the field. They were terrified but the message relayed to them moved their hearts to the core. Luke 2:10-11“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord”
During great occurrences, people rush to the point of scene to be part of first hand information. The birth of Jesus was no exception.
They hurried off to go and witness.
The shepherds weren’t contented with the angels report alone but ran to be part of “the eye witnesses”
Reports from other quarters this Christmas concerning HIS birth is not enough. You need to be a witness. Let us enthrone him in our hearts and declare his wonderful deeds!
